Hypostle Hall - Karnak Temple, Luxor

The hypostyle hall was probably the pinicle of the ancient Eygptian architecture. Basically a huge hall, with a roof (now gone) supported by absolutely gigantic columns. Every surface of the columns was carved with hieroglyphs, some of which were the cause of a few smiles amongst the group (pictures of why mercifully hidden away.)
