Musings on God Concept

Journal started Nov 2, 2003

Assume that God is omniscient. It's a valid assumption, but then you have to ask "What is God?" Knowledge of everything and everyone is the requirement, but who can know you better than yourself? Granted a third person perspective is valuable at times, but there are parts of ourself that we will not, and cannot communicate to other people. How do you see the color blue? Is it different from me? For God to have complete knowledge of you, by definition that god would have to be you. Being omniscient, therefore God would have to encompass you, me, and everyone in the world. It would have to be part of every atom, part of every molecule in existence because otherwise there would be something not even God was aware of.

Alright. Assume that you are a god. Assume that everybody is a god. The only thing you are all commonly bound by is the laws of Physics, and Thermodynamics. Would you be able to tell that you were a god, and not some powerless mortal being? Would you be able to do anything differently if you were a god in this situation than if you were a normal person? What if you found a way to break the laws of Thermodynamics say, inventing an infinite energy machine. Would that make you a god? Supposing a mortal were granted all the powers and abilities of a god, even unto immortality. Would there be any difference? If not, then it is impossible to say that humans and angels are fashioned of different material.

Just some musings...
