Jon was glad to get out of his home room. Many of the guys there had been looking at him in an odd way. And he could swear that Steve Farber, known as 'The Stud' to his friends, had barely taken his eyes off him. That had made Jon really nervous, he feared Steve had somehow overheard himself and Karyn talk about the stone.

Then Nicole Tiller, a leggy brunette, a cheerleader, a girl who'd never so much as given him the time of day, passed him a really odd note. All it said was,

U 4
Steve?

Gawping, he hastilly scribbled,

WTF? NO!!!

and passed back to her. It raised a giggle and a cute smile from her, but Jon couldn't figure out what game she was playing with him.

Shortly after that, it was time for the first class of the day...

Gym!
