"So," said Jon, fingering the stone, "why don't we settle the whole 'it's my fault' thing. Or we're going to argue about it forever. I wish that we'd know whether Jon, myself, or Kay is evil.

Nothing seemed to happen beyond the usual sensation associated with a wish, until they glanced down at their alphabet soup, which was forming words. "Kay is not evil. Karyn is not evil. Jon is not evil... Jon is evil... Jon is not evil... Jon is evil...."

"What? Come on!" exclaimed Jon. "I'm a good person! I couldn't have caused Kay's problem."

"Hmm," said Kay. "It's not just saying you're evil, it's going back and forth. Maybe that means that..."
