Zoe walked out of her room and into the living room. Her mom was still there, reading a book.

"Mom, I'm going out."

"Okay, Zoe. Don't be out too long."

Zoe left the house and was about to walk to a friend's house, when a next-door neighbor, Mrs. Thomson, called out to her. Zoe and Mrs. Thomson never got along with each other, for obvious reasons. So, when she asked Zoe to come by later on and help her with something, it was a shock to Zoe.

Walking away from Mrs. Thomson's yard, Zoe thought Wow. This wishing rock really does work.
