Jon felt compelled to say “I wish I were at home.”

In a flash, he was back at home, in his room, with the rock in his hand.

He immediately followed with “I wish that I woke up at 7 AM this morning, and that I would immediately head over to Sarah’s unlocked house. I wish that she had left the wishing rock unguarded on her pillow, allowing me to swipe it. I wish that I would then wish myself home, and make the series of wishes I just made.”

And with that, Jon felt his bodily control return.

What just happened here? Did I just create a paradox with the wishing stone? Well, first I’d better make sure that I don’t lose the stone again. Then I can sort things out with Sarah and Ethel.

Thinking for a few moments, Jon gripped the stone and wished…
