Strapless braEpisode submitted by Gerri on Mon May 16 20:31:26 2005 Return to Parent Episode “We aren’t done yet.” His mother said, “We still need to get you a strapless bra.” Before J.J. could really understand what his mother had just said, his mother lead them into the Fredrick’s of Hollywood store in the mall. By this time J.J. had the look of an innocent deer caught in the headlights of the onrushing semi-truck, which was close to the truth. “May I help you?” Asked a young woman, about half way between J.J.’s mother and J.J.’s age. “The girls both need new strapless bras for their prom.” “Do you know your sizes?” The sales lady asked. ‘Sizes?’ J.J. thought. ‘I haven’t had these long enough to know their size, even if I knew how bras are sized.’ Before J.J. could make a total fool of himself, Karyn came to his rescue. “We have both been doing some changing lately.” She told the sales lady. ‘Ain’t that the truth.’ J.J. thought “Maybe you had better measure us.” Karyn added. ‘Good thinking Karyn.’ J.J. thought. ‘Thank you.’ “If you ladies will step back here and remove your tops and bras, I get my measuring tape and get you sized for the right size bra. Do you know that over half of the women wear the wrong size bra?” J.J. followed Karyn and his mother back to the private area, closed off from the rest of the store. … The three 'ladies' bare their tops | |
