Afterwards, he silently walked upstairs and went to his room. Sherry let him go, figuring he wanted his privacy. She left him alone the rest of that afternoon, and pretended to go out and look for the stone again. While she was out, she got a call on her cell phone. "Hello?" Shery said, picking it up. "Um...is this Jon, or Mrs. Parker?" She recognized the voice as Karyn's. "Karyn? This is his mother. What do you mean?" "Well, I know he contracted the transformation virus. I wasn't sure if his voice had changed yet. I called the house just awhile ago to ask if I could come over but he didn't answer, so I thought he might be with you." Karyn explained. Transformation virus? Sherry wondered. "He's at home right now. I think he just wants to be alone for awhile." "Oh. I guess that makes sense. Poor Jon. I know transformation cases are always weird, and I've heard of someone becoming another person before, but never their own mother. I'll call later then and see if he's feeling better. Bye." "Bye."
