"Jon, you should know that the machine provides ID tags. We can do everything normally until the transporter is fixed. Punch in your name and get the tag and hurry to school, you've got five minutes to get there as it is." Jon tried to balance on the heeled boots and find his center of gravity, watching his mother in his body type something on the control panel, affix an ID tag to her shirt and hurry off to the drug store. He put in his name as she did and started walking off to school, moving slowly both to prolong the walk and not fall flat on his face. The heels weren't as tough to walk in, but he couldn't have run. As he walked up to the front entrance a few minutes later, he wondered what, if anything, might have changed... Something did. | |
