He spotted books about transgendered people on the shelf. I've hurt Mom, realized Jon. I've changed reality so that she must've suffered for years, feeling that she was in the wrong body ... her real body. It must've been hard for her to come out to Dad and reveal who she really was. Maybe they argued. All because of a stupid wish. Jon glanced at the portrait again. A really stupid wish, he thought. Where's Mikey? I didn't just ruin one life - Mom's - maybe Dad's too.
