The caller id showed my home number. It had to be Karyn, so I answered. "Hello?" "Hey, Jon. I've only got 3 candles left, so I can't cast the same door spell. I'll figure something out, though.: "I'm pretty sure there are some candles in the junk drawer in the kitchen," I told her. "I'll go look for them. Hold on." I waited patiently on Karyn's bed for her to come back to the phone. Her alarm clock said seven minutes had past before she returned. "They're all scented," she said, "so there's no telling what effect they'll have on the spell. We can risk it, or we can try a different spell."
