I was in Grade 9 at a high school in the suburbs of Toronto when the Great Shift happened. I was not what one would call one of the popular kids. I had thick glasses, was kinda fat, and would rather play chess than football. On the school social ladder I wasn't even on the first step. The only thing I had going for me was the fact that at my school the geeks stuck together. We always traveled as a pack for protection and always ate together at lunch. It did not always stop the verbal attacks but it was much better than nothing. As a matter of fact we were at the geek table when the shift hit. It was one of those days where the popular crowd decided to bug us in spite of our sticking together. Brian the jock and Sandy the babe had just come to our table started teasing when suddenly everything went fuzzy for me... Waking up other side of the school Up the Ladder! WAY UP! Waking Up (2) | |
