(I've since gotten some sleep, and thought about it a little more. It didn't help that I only glossed over what was there.) I was picturing it as more like a teleport (which is certainly what appears to be the case in many branches); I suppose I should have phrased it a little differently, to make that clear. Unfortunately, it doesn't end up making a lot of sense as you described it. After all, if Karyn and Jon had walked in, regardless of whether or not Zoe forgot to lock the door, none of them would have continued what they were doing upon becoming aware of the other(s). Heck, Jon and Karyn would have turned around as soon as they saw the light under the door. And as for the wish to be gone not working, that does lead to an interesting possibility where they need to charge back out of the room before they can wish themselves elsewhere. And maybe mom sees them. But it seriously hoses the many subsequent chapters that I wrote long before you posted that. Maybe you could, in future, find a way to move things back on track at the end. Just leaving it like you did felt like pissing on what I'd done, with nothing useful to make it seem helpful, rather than spiteful. Maybe I'm just reading too much into things, but that's how it felt. | |
