When it glowed, he had an urge to close his eyes. And when he opened them, he panicked. What did that wish do? Jon's mother, Linda, ran in like she had a few moments earlier, as if time had rewound itself. “Jon, there’s an emergency at work and they need me to come in today, so because I can’t, you need to take your sister and her friends to the park with you.” Linda said as she left , not giving Jon a chance to reply. She got in a car that pulled up and was gone in seconds. He cursed. He couldn't make any wishes if Zoe and her friends were around. But why would his mother want him to take Zoe to the park?
