He felt the stone grow warm in his hand and gasped. "Oh no, I didn't really want ..." The stone glowed and his wish was granted. But what did it do? He looked down. He looked the same as far as he could tell. He headed toward his house. He tried his key in the lock. It didn't work. Then he rang the bell. "Can I help you?" his mother asked, opening the door. "My grandma lives across the street," he said. Mrs. Wilson's grandchildren never visited, but she was always talking about them. "I was visiting, and she said you had some kids my age..."
