The new stone functioned differently to Jon’s stone in more ways than one, not least of which was the fact that wishes on this stone could be reversed… in a round about way.

This was a stone that created nothing from thin air. Whatever is wished for, the stone will provide by means of moving objects, ownership, physical traits or even personalities from one place to another. These adjustments are integral to the wish and follow the same rules – as such, they’re noticed only by those who hear the wish itself.

The stone gives and the stone takes away. It does so recklessly and wastefully, and for anything the owner gains from the stone, twice as much is consumed by its magic. Whatever the target of the wish gains, the stone takes the quantity needed to fulfil this twice over.

Strangely, the opposite is also true – anything the stone removes from the target is doubled and given away elsewhere. Effectively any wish made on the stone will have the opposite effect on those nearby, doubled up.

But there’s more. If the wish is generous or kind, the stone will carefully give (or take) what it needs from as many sources as it can find nearby, so as to have as small an impact as possible on others.

However the resources for a selfish or cruel wish will be abruptly stolen (or thrust upon) one nearby person, or split between two.

This was the Sharing Caring Stone.
