Alex got put down onto the floor a minute later. He tugged at Linda's shirt as she walked away, speaking for the first time in his little girl's voice. "Linda? I forgot ... what did I do?" Playing the child card would be best, he thought, as he sounded as cute and innocent as he could, which was a lot in this body.

"Megan wanted to use that new device she got. The Likeness Manipulator, I believe it's called. You volunteered. Now you're just like her. Megan is so happy."

In the guest room, Alex and Linda saw the real Megan playing with her dolls. "You better get in there and play with her," Linda said, before walking away.

As Alex walked into the room, he wondered about a lot of things. Likeness Manipulator? What the heck was that? And was this temporary? Or would he remain as Megan's "clone" until he died?

Megan looked up and smiled.
