He felt like he could trust her. "Wishing what? Jon, what are you talking about?" Zoe asked. "Didn't I get an inheritance from Grandpa?" Jon asked, becoming worried that maybe he hadn't. "No. But I didn't either. You know how he felt about both of us." Actually, Jon didn't. In the previous reality, Jon got along great with his grandfather. It only made sense that his grandfather would entrust him with the wishing stone. "Did anyone get an inheritance?" Jon asked, hoping that even if he hadn't, someone else in his family had.
