In fact, nothing was there - not his alarm clock, night light, or the small cabinet that they rested on. He wasn't even in his bedroom anymore. Instead, he was lying on the floor in the laundry room, completely naked. He was lying on a large pillow. He looked around. The room looked...strange. Larger than he remembered it. He tried to stand up, but found out he couldn't. He lifted a hand and looked at it. The fingers were fused together, the thumb was gone, and there was a rough pad on the palm. It looked like a paw. The other hand was about the same. "What the hell?" he said, and padded into the living room on all fours. He headed upstairs, but found that the doors to the bedrooms were closed, and he couldn't turn the doorknob in his current state. How was he going to get at the stone to fix this?
