The wish was granted, and the side effect started to assert itself. Jon noticed it as an odd blur effect across his vision very different from his previous wishes. It looked alot like the vertical wipe in a movie. When it cleared, instead of being dressed and heading downstairs, he was being shaken awake by his mother. "Wake up, sweetie. Zoe is almost done with her shower and you don't want to miss the bus. I'll lay out your clothes," she said. The Madison children took their morning showers in age order. Mikey had been still in bed when suddenly he was completely dressed and ready to go. Since he hadn't heard the wish, he was unaware that he hadn't always been the oldest. He paused in the hallway and went back to his room and grabbed the wishing stone off the dresser. Since he was the oldest, their grandfather had sent it to him.
