Karyn smiled. "Hi, Jon-boy. Did you bring the stone?" "Of course," he said, reaching into his pocket. But then his eyes went wide. "What's wrong?" Karyn asked. "It's gone. I must have dropped it." ------ Meanwhile, at Jon's house, his mom was cleaning up the kitchen table. She thought that Jon would be a little bit more inclined to be clean since he was the oldest of all her children, but no, he was just as messy as Mikey. She sighed, then grabbed up Jon's plate. And that's when she noticed the stone. She picked it up and immediately recognized it was Jon's. He must have dropped it. Then, thinking out loud, she said "You know, I wish ..." | |
