This stone looked nearly the same, but it wasn't. It was the Large Stone. And because it was slightly bigger and heavier than the original stone, all wishes made with it would affect the target and 50 feet around it. So, for example, if they wished Sarah McMillan to be even more ditzy, then all the people within 50 feet of her (and Sarah herself) would become more ditzy.

Zoe walked towards the spot where she usually met up with her friends before school. And as she approached Athena, she took out the stone, completely unaware that it wasn't the same stone she inherited from her grandfather.
