Time to wake up, honey," he said, the last word slipping out unintentionally. His mother responded with a groan, and he shook her again. "Come on now, it's time to get up. I know it's Saturday but we have things to do." After a few more requests, his mom was up, grumbling, wearing only a pair of boxers and stretching, apparently oblivious to the current incongruity. Whether that was a temporary or permanent condition remained to be seen. She got up. Jon watched her, impassively. "Jon, would you turn around?" his mother said. Jon did so, finding it rather amusing for some reason. A few moments later, she gave her permission to look. His mother was wearing a ratty t-shirt and a pair of shorts...casual enough to head down to breakfast in, but not to leave the house. "Aren't you going to shower?" "After breakfast," she said. She headed downstairs before he could say anything else. Jon muttered and began picking things up off the floor. How could anyone live in this mess?
