Mikey slumped his shoulders again. But then he remembered that he was wearing the ring. Quickly, he touched Jon with the blue stone part of the ring. "Mikey, what are you doing?" Karyn asked, eyes wide. "Jon, please don't get Ms. Warren into any trouble," Mikey said. "Of course, Mikey," Jon said. He had a loving expression on his face. It was clear that he both adored and respected his little brother. "I would never do anything to wreck your romance with your teacher. I think it's really sweet what you're doing." Karyn kept on staring. She couldn't believe it. Mikey actually turned his own brother into his property. "Mikey, reverse what you did to Jon. You've made your point," Karyn said. "Point? I wasn't making a point. I just wanted to stop you two from getting Ms. Warren in trouble." "And you had every right to, Mikey," Jon said. "There's nothing wrong with a relationship between a ten year old boy and a twenty-seven year old woman. As long as you both love each other, there's no problem, right?" "Exactly, Jon." Jon smiled, liking that Mikey was pleased with what he said. Suddenly, Karyn slugged her friend in the face. She didn't want to, but maybe it was the only way to knock some sense into him. "Ow!"
