The stone glowed and suddenly the banging on the door stopped. Jon carefully opened his door and looked out into the hallway. But there was no one there. He figured that Karyn would just be forced to walk away and out of the house, but what happened instead was that the stone transported her across town, to the furthest limit of its range.
