"Come on, Elyse. Let's go somewhere else," Zoe said. "Those guys freak me out."

"Maybe you're right," Elyse said, taking another look at the new Karyn. "She probably wants to spend time with her new friend more than me anyway," she muttered to herself.

"Huh? Who are you talking about?" Zoe asked, overhearing her sister.

Elyse blushed suddenly. "Uh ... Karyn."

"The Goth girl? Don't tell me you still consider her a friend. She's made it clear that she wants nothing to do with you." Zoe paused. "Of course, that was the normal reality. In this one, you're my twin sister. So maybe you and Karyn were never friends, since you're not the same age."

Elyse hadn't thought of that.

"Now, come on. Let's get out of here," Zoe said.
