Katie looked oddly at him, then said "Uh ... no, of course not. I ... I'm not sure why I even said that." She looked down at her watch. "Shit. I'm gonna be late, if I don't get going right now." She grabbed her bra and blouse from the floor and put them back on. "I might be home late tonight, so don't expect me to make dinner," she said, on her way out the door. Did his mom just say the word 'shit'? It was strange, because he had never heard her say it before. He used it himself plenty of times and she called him out on it whenever he did, saying she never wanted to hear that kind of language in her house. But apparently she was now okay with it.
