Suddenly, the stone glowed, causing her to look away, and when she looked back, Jon was there! "Jon! You're alive!" But then Karyn forgot about how the stone worked. Jon probably thought that he was always alive. He was dead, after all, and not around to hear her wish. But what Jon said next shocked her. "Thanks for bringing me back Karyn." "Wait a minute. You shouldn't remember being dead. You didn't hear my wish." "Actually, I did," Jon said. "I was in this room when you used the stone. It's just that I was a ghost and you couldn't see me." "Well, I'm just glad that you're back. For a moment, I wasn't sure that the wish would work. I figured that you wished for something that made you kill yourself." "That's true. Sort of."
