She was no longer in a car with sunlight shining through the window. She was in a young girl's bedroom Posters showed some Disney Channel show. Books and schoolwork were those suitable for a 5th grader. There was one bed in the corner.... One bed? She looked around. Of course, Josephine wasn't there. And she and Josephine were two halves of the same person who had swallowed the stone. If Josephine wasn't there, no wishes. She stepped over to the door and opened it. The rooms had been slightly rearranged from what she remembered as Jon and across the hall was a room with a big sticker on the door, with "Josephine's Room" written in purple ink. A similar one on her own room said "Jennifer's Room". Unfortunately, she was being watched. Her mother yelled at her, "I told you to stay in your room for a while. You need to learn not to get lost." Her mother approached and it seemed clear that she was going to force Jennifer back into her room if needed. She returned to her room just in time to see Josephine peek out of her room. However, their mother warned her off. "Your sister has to stay in her room. She can't talk to you now. And don't try to go in there or I'll make you stay in your room too." So when they had been teleported home, it changed reality so that their mother thought that she had already driven them home--and that she had already punished Jennifer by making her stay in her room. There was no chance to make any more wishes, unless she or Josephine could make them while separated by a door, and even if so, they had to do it fast. | |
