But he couldn't, since wishes couldn't be reversed. And since the phenomenon was far-reaching, the stone wasn't able to affect it. He briefly wondered how all of this could be happening anyway, since the stone had a limited range, but his thoughts were cut short when he heard his mom yelling downstairs. Jon dropped the stone, then ran out of his bedroom to see what was happening. ------ "Zoe, don't go out there!" her mom yelled. Jon's Goth sister turned around and glared at her. "And what if I do go out? Will you come outside and bring me back in?" Then she smiled. "It might be kind of nice to have a Goth mother." Her mom just stood there, silent. "Do as your mother says, Zoe," her dad said. "No way. I can do whatever the fuck I want. And I don't think the light will even do anything to me anyway. I'm already a Goth." "You don't know that for sure," her dad said. "What's going on?" Jon asked, running down the stairs. "Zoe's going outside," Mikey said. "Zoe, I don't think that's ..."
