Let see...:

1) Living cloud or toy.
2) Fictional being; can be anything, like chao or pokemon, but don't used official character at all. Using a official character would disrupted the formula of the story's concept and ruin the story, I have seen it before, and I like this story too much to let that happen. This option might not be 100% acceptable, and I don't think it will suit the character's transformation, but it is still available for you.
3) A personification of music, a silly idea but it haven't been presented yet.
4) Classic chimera: lion body and head, snake tail, and goat horns and hind-legs.

I could come up with something else, but I think this would be enough...see if anyone might come up with anything else if these doesn't suit your need.
