I thought you were hungry," Jon said, following her up the escalator. "I was, but I just need to check something out first. Max said he'd watch our stuff, so it's okay." "Max? What's your brother doing here?" Jon asked. Max was Karyn's 11-year old brother. Jon turned and looked towards the food court just in time to see Max picking up Karyn's discarded hot dog and taking a bite out of it. Oh no! He's eating Karyn's food, he thought. That means that ... He wanted to get back to the table, to stop Max from eating it, but he knew it was too late and running down the "up" escalator would attract too much attention. Jon would just have to deal with Max later, after he got a chance to catch up with him, without seeming too suspicious. He didn't want Karyn to find out about the love potion. ------ Meanwhile, in the food court, Max took a bite out of the hot dog and felt like he was about to sneeze.
