Did you take a rock from my room?" "Yes. And I wish you'd forget that I took it." The same blank look that had passed over Orr's face earlier in the day passed over Jon's. He stared at Mikey for a moment, then went by Mikey and down the stairs. Mikey slipped quietly into Jon's room and was about to return the rock to its hiding place. But then, he remembered. Part of him really liked what had happened to Gina when it was over. And Mikey remembered the strange websites he'd found on the Internet when no one else was home. They had pictures of people changing. Turning into just about any animal anyone could imagine. Mikey also remembered some shows he'd seen on TV. Whenever a woman or a girl was changed, if she was later turned back into herself ... well, that idea did something to Mikey, too. It made him have what Gina had been about to tell Ms. Warren about earlier -- a woody. One last wish, thought Mikey. It couldn't hurt if I do it right. I just have to think carefully first. "I wish," he began, holding the rock in his hands, "that I could turn any girl -- any woman -- any girl or woman -- into anything I want for as long as I want, and that, after that, they'll turn back to normal." Mikey put the rock away, slipped out of Jon's room, and into his own. Looking out the window Later that day ... The doorbell rings Mikey's music lesson The next day ...
