Deer, deer, go away ...

"Make them disappear!" Karyn yelled.

"I wish the million bucks would cease to exist," I said. Nothing happened. "Figures. I wish someone would deal with the deer."

"Ummm ..." Karyn glared at me. "What did that wish do?"

"I wish we knew." A radio appeared between us; tuned to the news.

"The Governor has declared an emergency free hunting season to deal with the sudden plague of deer. Any person may kill any deer within five miles of the city as long as they put the carcass to good use." A brief pause; then the announcer began listing charities which would put deer carcasses to good use.

"That sucks!" Karyn stared at me.

"Better than all the farmers going out of business." I shrugged. "It's a lesson. Want to try something else?"
