Jon couldn't believe what had happened. Gently, tenderly, he hugged the mannequin that had been Karyn.

"The rock!" whispered Jon to himself. "Somehow, it's the rock!"

He looked in the hiding place and was relieved to find that the rock was still there. He grabbed it and wished that Karyn were herself again.

Nothing happened.

"Oh, Karyn," he said to the unmoving replica. "I wish we knew how this happened!"

And, like an overused method of instantly gaining knowledge in a lot of strange stories, Jon suddenly DID know how it had happened.

"MIKEY!!!!" he yelled.
