Artelanoth, Alberta

Species: Female Assingh

Creator: Charles Matthias

Formerly Sir Albert Bryonoth, he was one of the knights accompanying Patriarch Akabaieth on his ill-fated journey to Metamor Keep. Bryonoth was kidnapped by Zagrosek, only to return during the winter assault. He kidnapped Duke Thomas, attempting to force Thomas to be a simple horse. He was captured, and as penance, served in the Ducal stables. The curse struck him first by turning him into a woman, at which point she assumed the name Alberta. Thomas sought out Alberta in order to pretend to be her horse. Under Zagrosek's influence, Alberta poisoned Thomas's mind until he wanted to be nothing but a horse. The plot was uncovered, and Alberta was freed from Zagrosek's influence. But not without a price. Alberta lost that last shred of her masculinity, and now thought of herself as purely female. The curse struck again, turning her into an Assingh, a Flatlands donkey. Once again she changed her name, this time to Alberta Artelanoth. Thomas has begun to court her, and she has been receptive to his advances.

Egland, Sir Yacoub

Species: Elk

Once a knight of Yesulam, Egland survived the slaughter of the Patriarch's camp, but was too wounded to leave the valley, and so suffered Metamor's curse. He was transformed into an elk, and became a knight errant of Metamor. During the winter assualt, he helped rescue Duke Thomas from the hand of his friend Sir Bryonoth. It was at that time that Intoran, who was secretly his lover, became his squire. Egland is proud to be a knight, and would be nothing else now, but his truest passion lies in playing the viola.

Intoran

Species: Oryx

Creator: Charles Matthias

Intoran has been a Keeper all his life. He has fled from one abusive relationship to the next until he met Sir Egland. The both of them have been very gentle with each other, and strong. Intoran was not sure what to make of being Elgand's squire at first, but now he yearns to be a knight as well. Currently, he lives with Sir Egland and acts as servant as well as squire.

Maugnard, Sir Andre

Species: Wolverine

Creator: Christian O'Kane

Andre was and technically sitll is a minor midlands noble. He came to the Keep ten years ago, and talked his old childhood friend, Misha, into coming as well. He is a knight errant, but labors to keep up supplies and provisions for the Long Scouts. He is married to Jenn, another wolverine. He lost part of one leg during winter assualt, and so has retired from active duty.

Saulius, Sir Erick

Species: Rat

Creator: Charles Matthias

A knight originally of the Flatlands, he is considered the finest swordsman at the Keep. He has had trouble fully accepting his change to a rat and hid in the cellars in shame. He also suffered from bouts of madness but has overcome them and now comes out of the cellars regularly. He still lives in the cellars to show solidarity with his fellow rats, though he also spent two months living at Glen Avery while training Charles to be a squire for the Jousting tournament at the Summer Solstice festival. Wants Charles very much to become his squire full time.
