ElliotSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasElliot is rather youn for his time, but has adapated to his life as a rat. In his early days, he made money by letting Pascal perform experiemnts on him. One of these left him with a permanent red patch of fur on his right shoulder. He still lives in the cellars, but now makes his living as a thief. He never takes more than would be noticed though. |
GoldmarkSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasGoldmark has embraced being a rat more than anyone else, even Charles himself. Goldmark has long enjoyed the fact that he could transform into a small rat and find his way into places other larger folks found inaccessible. He is repsonsible for finding the lost wine cellar that the rats have claimed for their own. Goldmark now too makes his money by being a thief, but he enjoys it more for the chance to transform and be a rat. |
JulianSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasJulian was the seventh son of a Midlands noble, though he was deformed at birth. He was kept locked in a tower room by his family, who slid food under the door for him, never allowing him to leave. He learned how to pick locks in his youth, and after many months of careful planning, escaped his family estate. He went to Metamor hoping that the curse would cure his deformity, but it left him as a white rat with red eyes - vermin. He fled to the cellars, but has now accepted his place, and has put his lock picking skils to good use. It was he who convinced Elliot and Goldmark to take up thievery, and he even now envisions beginning a Thiever's Guild in Metamor. |
Matthias, CharlesSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasCharles came to Metamor Keep seven years ago of his own volition. Shortly thereafter he managed to get the Writer's Guild organized. He was the primary Headmaster. He took a vow of nonviolence though was forced to break it, leading to a near attack on the Duke, a brief stay in the dungeon, and living as a searat on a schooner from Whales. After an adventure off at Glen Avery, he joined the Long Scouts, and began to instruct Garigan in the art of the Sondeckis. During the winter assault, he teamed with Jerome and Zagrosek in defending the Glen, a move that led to his banishment from the Keep for five months. He subsequently married Kimberly and moved to Glen Avery. He is now the proud father of five children, and has been training to be Sir Saulius's squire.

Matthias, KimberlySpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasKimberly fled the land of Brathas, a small barony to the west along the seashore, when her parents, the servants of the local baron, made an arrangement to marry her to a local lord. She managed to hire some of the baron's men who were not fond of her husband-to-be to escort her as far as they could go. While riding through the mountains they were waylaid by a band of Lutins, and had to stop at Metamor Keep. Kimberly decided to stay knowing that her husband-to-be would never come for her there. Becoming a rat however had been very frightening, but with the help of Charles Matthias she has overcome her reservations. She has now fallen in love with and married him. While living at the Keep she worked as part of the general maintenance staff, cooking, cleaning, and assisting in the castle. Now that she has moved to Glen Avery, she has become a mother of five small baby rats, named Charles, Bernadette, Erick, Baerle, and Ladero. |
Phillips, HectorSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasAn artist who uses his teeth to sculpt as his hands are too paw-like to be of use to him. Though he refused to help Julian begin to form a Thieves Guild, he will never reveal his friend's secret. |
Saulius, Sir ErickSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasA knight originally of the Flatlands, he is considered the finest swordsman at the Keep. He has had trouble fully accepting his change to a rat and hid in the cellars in shame. He also suffered from bouts of madness but has overcome them and now comes out of the cellars regularly. He still lives in the cellars to show solidarity with his fellow rats, though he also spent two months living at Glen Avery while training Charles to be a squire for the Jousting tournament at the Summer Solstice festival. Wants Charles very much to become his squire full time. |
TallisSpecies: RatCreator: Charles MatthiasTallis is the only rat other than Charles and Kimberly that does not live in the cellars. He is a member of the Writer's Guild, and in fact, his story won first place at the CR 706 Vernal Equinox Festival. He is hooded black with white underbelly, and he has a small curl in his fur at the top of his head. Sometimes he doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut, and it gets him into trouble. He became one of the Head Master's of the Writer's Guild after Charles stepped down to become a Long Scout after the Summer Sosltice Festival in CR 706. |
