Second Weekend

Journal started Jan 27, 2006

Whew, it's the second weekend of school. Still having problems, but the sudden break is relaxing I suppose. It occurred to me that my last paranoid self aggrandizing post may have overlooked one possibility. I might still be broken, thus this confusion and weariness and lack of imagination would not go away. *shudders* Anyway, on other more pleasant subjects...

I had an interesting idea, which is to do a roleplaying campaign about ghosts. Or maybe not ghosts, but people who don't have bodies. I'm not sure how to explain it, but I just would get a huge kick out of roleplaying bodiless entities who can go around borrowing other people's bodies to further their agenda. Or maybe someone who stays fully cognicant through reincarnation, and can come back as anyone and anything. Fun stuff, kind of like, like the legend of kitsune. They could possess others, could take on a spirit form, and could be born as human when they need to hide and/or conserve energy. Ooh, yeah I could go sooo crazy with that.

If we could keep coming back as different people, we'd be near impossible to track or control. You could be hunted down by the forces of evil, fully and conclusively killed, and live to tell the tale. The spying possibilities alone... a sleeper agent could get caught, revealed, and executed before he got crucial information to his home base. Then somehow they'd know it as if he just walked in the door and told them...

Of course whatever organization that controlled these things would rule the world. I'd make it so it didn't rule it explicitly though, or that it only arbitrated the rule of others like the old Assassins of Alamūt. An assassin who couldn't be executed, or identified, now that's a scary thought... but cool if you're the assassin.
