I applied to a temp agency today, Hedy Holmes Staffing by name. They're relatively hard to get into--they only accept applications between 8am and 10am on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As today is Tuesday however, and I've been unusually competent today, I got over there and into their system. Now I get to call them once a week or so, to see if they have dug up any employment I could handle. I have to take a big pay cut to pay for their services, but if they have connections I don't then working somewhere for $8 instead of $10 an hour is much, much, much better than not working at all. Depending on the work of course--some work isn't worth the hourly or annual wage.
They called me later today, but had work for tomorrow morning and I have an appointment with the pill pusher on that day, in the exact opposite direction from the job. The job involved heavy lifting anyway, so I guess it's good I missed it. Meh... hopefully they haven't given up on me yet! For the next job, I should have a free schedule... hopefully. I might be actually making money and helping my household again, hopefully...
