As they got closer to the city, the road they were on widened into a highway, with a green grass strip down the middle. It was odd, driving down a highway like that with no other cars around.

A little closer to the city, the corn fields were gone, replaced by green grass.

As they got closer yet, the buildings became clearer and more monstrous. Most were either made of concrete or metal. But all of them were mostly made of glass.

Jon looked at a green highway sign suspended above the road. It said:

NOW LEAVING THE PLACE

And then under that, it said:

NOW ENTERING 51

"What does 51 mean?" Karyn asked.

"I'm not sure," Jon answered, as they drove into the city.
